In a ageist society, Betty White prove that you can still be lovable to any age group. Keep staying healthy and beautiful because I cannot imagine a world without a Betty White. Last Thursday, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana has discountinued their 17 year old lower priced line D&G. The line made their last apperance in Milan Fashion Week showing their last D&G Spring/Summer collection. It was not a surprise of the closing of D&G since it was rumored since March that both Dominico and Stefano have been toying of the idea for the past few years.
“Without taking the style into consideration, ever since the early days, we were always looking at the Chanel Maison as an example, one with one single brand,” said Domenico.
“We think that in order to work well, to be in the market for a long time, and to leave something after us, there must be only one brand and not two,” said Gabbana.
D&G was not a struggling line, there were times when D&G would out proform the higher priced line Dolce and Gabbana in some key Asian markets. But this not really the end of D&G it is just going to be infuse in to Dolce & Gabbana. As Dominico told Womens Word Daily:
“We are very happy, this is not a closure, it’s an opening of new opportunities for us, simply with one brand. We are independent, it’s our own company and we have nobody to report to. We may have made mistakes in the past, but we feel this is the way to go.”
This early morning at 3:54 pm BST (British Summer Time) the insanely talented Amy Winehouse was found dead in her home in Camden, London. Cause of death is still undetermined. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled tomorrow. Amy was only 27 years old and joined the 27 death club which include Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, and Janice Joplin.
I received the horrible news when I was semi-enjoying a acai bowl at Lean and Green at 10 am while I was checking my twitter account. I must say it was like February 11, 2010 all over again. I loved Amy to the core and have mentioned many times how she needed to comeback. She was a true raw talent of the 21st century where synthesizers took over the music industry. Yes, she had various demons that she had to battle and they were very public but I hope that her addiction to drugs was the main cause of her death. I just want everyone to remember her talent and unique style were she successfully brought the 60’s back to the modern day. With her towering bee hive hairstyle, thick cat eye eyeliner, and her tattoos that a sailor from the 40s would rock. I remember my first Amy Winehouse album it was a gift from a ex-boyfriend that I was pimping at the time and this was the time were she was barely or even ever mentioned in the U.S.. Till this day I would listen to her records on repeat without skipping a song. I wish I had the chance to see her live even though she might be a no show but least there was the possibility. I would always ignore those who would ridicule her behavior because I can see that she was battling demons that were too powerful that rehab would not even help. Now she is finally in peace and the negativity is now non-existent but she will be truly miss by her dedicated fans.
Love, electricity, shockwave central
Power on the motherboard, yes
Push up, overload, legendary heavy glow
Sunshine, thunder roll, keep this on
Yes the lantern burns frim and easy
And broadcast, so raw and neatly
Thunder roll, sunshine, work it out
I’ll learn to work the saxophone
I’ll play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whisky all night long
Open up your heart, what do you feel
Open up your heart, what do you feel is real, yeah
The big bang may be a million years away, oh
But I can’t think of a better time to say
