August 16, 1924 – March 18, 2010

Have you are had one of those “I thought that person was dead this whole time” kind of moment? So you end up getting two news in one package. One that they are still alive and second, that they just died.

This bring me to breaking the news that Fess Parker died today due to natural causes at his home in Santa Ynez, California, near the Fess Parker Winery. He was just 85 years old. He was the King of the American Frontier genre. If you were in the 50s and you want to film any American Frontier Folklore. Fess was the go to guy to play the main character. You might remember him in his most notable role as Davy Crockett and other roles such as; the son-consoling dad in Old Yeller and NBC’s Daniel Boone.

After his acting career, Fess devoted his time to his successful Winery and Vineyards & Resort and Spa. Which by the way were award-winning. The winery are also known for their coon skin caps and bottle stoppers. You can also see the winery in the movie Sideways.

My condolences and prayers goes out to his family and friends.
